The class itself

Every class starts with an activity that will provide guidance for the kids (creating a bowl out of stonewear clay, for example). Activities always have two components to work along: technique and self expression. Art House focuses on kids learning technique through their own artwork and having fun.

Some artworks won’t necessarily be finished in one class. This is to be expected and welcomed, as the rhythms of art making can often be slower and creativity gets built up from week to week, as is their visual art skills and confidence into their own work.

As there is a lot of personalised attention to each participant, there is a limit of 6 kids in each class.

Classes are 50 minutes long.

Materials are included.

Classes run during term time, from school week 1 to 10, kids can start classes at any point during the term.

Techniques

Art House is a studio that works with all types of materials (acrylic paint, watercolour, oil pastels, clay, charcoal, pastels, etc) to learn about many types of techniques, as painting, drawing, screen- printing, sculptural and collage.

Some terms may focus more on painting, others on printing techniques. There is always enough variety for kids to experiment with different materials and there is always flexibility so kids can stretch their abilities while enjoying their art making.

Enrolment and Prices

$30 per class.

$25 per class if paying 5 classes or more.

If paying per class, payment is at the end of the class at the studio. If paying 5 classes or more, payment can be made at the studio or by direct deposit after the first class up to a week after.

As classes run with just a few kids, please let me know if your child won’t be attending art classes anymore.

Payment Method

This can be done by direct deposit, details will be provided when your place is confirmed.  Alternatively, you can pay by debit/credit card at the Art House Studio.

Absences

Kids can catch up on lost classes on another afternoon. Please let me know of any absences as soon as possible and I will provide options to make up for the lost studio time.

End of Term Exhibition

We finish Term 1 and Term 3 with an exhibition to celebrate the kids hard work and progress, and for the kids to have the opportunity to share proudly their work with their loved ones.
